Laine Boyd has had an ongoing love affair with books, music, animals, and chocolate since childhood. Her first "book" written at the age of six about a dog who saved a family from a fire, finally convinced her parents to get her a dog. It was her first lesson in the power of the pen.
As a teenager, Laine became a Christian, and with her faith came more intense passions: providing help and hope for the poor, standing against injustice, a commitment to the value and purpose of life, and living a life of intentionality. Laine has been active as a volunteer for numerous causes. She and her husband sponsor children through World Vision, an organization that addresses the root causes of poverty, and provides food, clothing, shelter, medicine, education, and more for those in direst need.
A native St. Louisan, Laine’s stories are set in her home-town. She and her husband share their home in the St. Louis area with three rescue animals - two cats and a dog, and enough pet hair to start a blanket business.
Her background includes training in many styles of music. She plays piano, cello, and guitar. For most of her life, she has sung with various groups, including twelve years with the St. Louis Metro Singers, the principal pops chorus for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Her educational and work background includes music, education, theology, legal, and nutrition. Laine is an avid cook, a self-proclaimed expert on chocolate, and insists that tea is prepared properly.
Laine’s books contain no profanity or offensive scenes, and are currently published by Marquee Publishing, LLC. www.marqueepublishingllc.com
